complete care
Most people in Las Vegas expect to gamble, but those coming to see plastic surgeon Dr. Stephen W. Gordon know they’re doing anything but. “I want each patient to know they will be cared for—before, during and after the procedure. That’s every bit as important as the particulars of the surgery they are about to undergo,” Dr. Gordon says.
His Complete Cosmetic Surgery Center is a 4,500-square-foot practice with exam rooms, an operating room and a recovery suite. Everything from breast augmentation to body contouring to facelifts is available. “As the name implies, this is a ‘complete’ cosmetic surgery center,” says Dr. Gordon, who believes in providing natural, not fashionable results. “I’m not trying to have a person conform to a fad or undergo a temporary alteration thought by some to look good this year. I’m much more interested in making a person look naturally beautiful instead of altered. A classic beauty.”

Discussing each procedure in-depth and going over a variety of options is vital, according to Dr. Gordon. “To allow the patient to peek inside my brain and see how I’m thinking gives them a greater understanding of what they’re getting and the ramifications.” Part of this education is keeping everything in the open, including where the surgeries take place. “Everyone gets a tour of our accredited surgery center so no one thinks it is something shrouded in mystery.” For the doctor, comfort is a priority, even when it comes to examining rooms. Dr. Gordon did away with traditional, flat exam tables and instituted oral surgery chairs, which are padded, ergonomic and adjustable. “We want exams to be done in the most comfortable manner. Now we have the flexibility to do that.” 888-262-9933 or newbeauty.com/gordon.

A LITTLE LIFT
Of all the surgeries he performs, breast lifts, which are frequently combined with breast augmentations, are among Dr. Gordon’s Top 5. “A breast lift, when done properly, is probably the most versatile and satisfying operation that a plastic surgeon can master and offer a patient,” he says. “Breast lifts are one of my favorite procedures because they’re dramatic and the patients are generally very happy.” What’s unusual about the recipients is the wide age range. “I can have a 22-year-old needing a breast lift, and, likewise, I can have a 65-year-old. There’s a lot of versatility of application for breast lifts,” he explains. Since 1998, he’s been working on a unique approach to the operation. “I’ve pieced together a technique that’s a combination of procedures with modifications,” says Dr. Gordon, who uses what is called a “vertical scar” or “lollipop” type of breast lift procedure, which goes around the areola and vertically down to the mammary fold. “I do a hybrid of vertical and anchor scars. Because of the geometry involved, the scarring is very minimal. It’s an amazing procedure.”
